Dated:                   July 1, 2024 Revised September 1, 2024

To:                          ITN Logistics Origin Agents / Forwarder Partners

Subject:               Pre-loading / Pre-arrival Information Filling for All Inbound Shipments to Canada

In order to provide sufficient time for ITN Logistics to submit the mandatory pre-loading/pre-arrival information to Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), in compliance with government regulations.

ITN requires receipt of pre-loading/pre-arrival information from origin, (for transmission to CBSA during regular business hours in Canada) as follows;

Air –                 Minimum One Business Day (24 Hours) Prior to Tendering Cargo to the Air Carrier

Marine –          Minimum Three Business Days (72 Hours) Prior to Vessel Loading

Failure of an origin agent / forwarder partner to ensure ITN receives a ‘Pre-Loading / Pre-Arrival Alert’ as outlined in this memo, will cause you to be liable and responsible for;

  • delay of shipment as CBSA will hold the cargo at first port of arrival in Canada,
  • any storage charges incurred,
  • an ITN administration fee of CA $250.00,
  • possible penalty from CBSA of up to CA$ 8,000.00 per non-compliance occurrence,
  • an ITN administration fee of CA$ 500.00 per non-compliance penalty assessed by CBSA.

We require all origin agents/forwarder partners to ensure the pre-loading/pre-arrival information provided to ITN;

  • includes a draft copy carrier and house bills of lading which are correct and accurate,
  • has cargo commodity descriptions on carrier and house bills of lading in accordance with CBSA regulations – <click here >
